Sridevi Manoj — Founder, The smARTists

Her Story

Built at the intersection of art and leadership.

"Children's minds are like wet clay — ready for any impression."

For Ms. Sridevi Manoj, art has never been just about colours on a canvas — it has always been a language of expression, imagination, and growth. A born artist with a lifelong passion for creativity, she believes that every child possesses a unique spark waiting to be discovered and nurtured.

Alongside her artistic journey, Sridevi has spent over 25 years in leadership roles across the corporate world, leading teams, mentoring professionals, and building high-performing workplaces. This unique combination of creative passion and leadership experience has given her a deep understanding of the qualities that help individuals thrive — not just in their careers, but in life itself.

Throughout her professional journey, she observed that the most successful people were not necessarily those with the highest qualifications, but those who possessed confidence, resilience, empathy, creativity, collaboration, curiosity, and the ability to communicate and solve problems effectively. She also realised that these qualities are best nurtured during childhood, when young minds are naturally curious, fearless, and eager to learn.

This insight became the inspiration behind The smARTists.

Founded with the vision of redefining art education, The smARTists is much more than an art academy. It is a creative learning space where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, experiment, and express themselves freely. Every lesson is thoughtfully designed to develop artistic skills while simultaneously building confidence, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, teamwork, patience, gratitude, and a growth mindset.

At The smARTists, the process is valued just as much as the final artwork. Children learn that mistakes are stepping stones to mastery, creativity has no boundaries, and every idea deserves a chance to be explored. Through carefully crafted projects and engaging experiences, they develop discipline, perseverance, self-belief, and the courage to think independently.

Sridevi's philosophy is simple yet powerful: art is not merely a skill to be learned — it is a powerful medium for shaping character, nurturing emotional well-being, and preparing children for the future.

Her mission is to create an environment where every child feels inspired, valued, and confident enough to discover their own creative voice. By combining the expressive power of art with the wisdom gained from decades of leadership, she hopes to help children become not only skilled artists, but also compassionate individuals, confident communicators, creative thinkers, and future-ready leaders.

Because every masterpiece begins with a single brushstroke — and every confident adult begins as a child who was encouraged to believe in themselves.

I don't just want children to paint well. I want them to leave each class a little more confident, a little more open to trying, and a little more ready to lead — in whatever they choose to do next.

Teaching Philosophy

Art is the method.
Character is the outcome.

Every class at The smARTists is designed to teach two things simultaneously — a real art skill, and a life skill that will stay with the child long after the canvas dries.

👁️
See Before You Draw
The most important skill in art — and in life — is observation. Before technique, children learn to truly look at the world: proportion, light, shadow, detail. This builds focus and attention that carries into the classroom and beyond.
💪
Confidence Through Completion
Every child finishes what they start. Completing a work of art — however simple — builds a quiet sense of self-belief. Over time, that becomes the habit of seeing things through.
💬
Feedback That Builds, Not Breaks
Every child's work is reviewed personally by Sridevi. The feedback is honest, specific, and encouraging — teaching children to receive input gracefully, a skill that leaders rely on throughout life.
